OUR HISTORY
United Mechanical was founded in 2000 as an industrial chiller and boiler service contractor by Phil Gueltzow with a total of 4 employees. John Burke purchased the company in 2018 and moved forward with a new path. After being in business for 25 years, United Mechanical is your one stop service provider for HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, and Electrical service.
John Paul Burke’s journey began in Louisville, KY, where he was adopted by his loving parents through Catholic Charities. He grew up in Germantown and attended St. Therese parochial school and Trinity High School, where he pursued vocational training in HVAC during his junior and senior years. His career started with window units and progressed to residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
In 1990, John joined Stewart Services and quickly rose to the role of General Manager. In 2006, he moved to United Mechanical as a sales representative and acquired the company from Phil Gueltzow in 2018. Under his leadership, United Mechanical has expanded significantly, growing from 9 to over 70 employees in just 6 years.

We partner with our customers to deliver the highest quality and value across our services, which include commercial HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, sheet metal, chillers, and building automation controls.
We proudly support our trade with membership in Pipefitters, Plumbers, Service Technicians Local 502, and Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 110.
